Quartet: General

Power Supply Information: Quartet

The Quartet uses a regulated power supply with the following specifications:

  • Input: AC 100~240V, 50-60Hz (same unit can be used in U.S., Europe, and Asia)
  • Output: DC 12V, 2.5Amps (2500mA), 30Watts
  • Barrel Size: 2.1mm inside diameter x 5.5mm outside diameter
  • Center Pin: Positive

NOTE: The Quartet is capable of accepting a power supply with an output range of 9 – 16 Volts. However the Amperage must be enough to equal 30 Watts. Using Ohms Law (Watts / Volts = Amps), a power supply that outputs 9 Volts must also provide 3.33 Amps. Likewise, a power supply that outputs 16 Volts must also provide 1.875 Amps.

The iOS cable won’t stay connected to my iPhone or iPad

If you have a case on your iPhone or iPad, it may be obstructing the iOS connector from being inserted into the jack all the way. Please remove the case or cover to verify if this is the cause.

If you do not have a case or cover on your iPhone or iPad and the cable won’t stay connected, then there may be a problem with the iPhone or iPad, the Apogee product, or the cable. Please contact the Apogee Support Department to further troubleshoot the issue.

Where can I get an iOS Lightning cable to connect my ONE, Duet or Quartet to iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch?

If you already own one of these Apogee products and do not have the Lightning cable, you can purchase one from the Apogee online store (USA only) or your local distributor.

The Apogee Lightning cable provides a direct digital connection to Apple’s iOS devices with the Lightning connector including iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5, iPad (4th gen.), iPad Mini and iPod Touch (5th gen.).

Please Note: Duet 2, Duet FireWire and ONE (1st gen) are not compatible with iPad/iPhone, only Mac.

Can ONE, Duet or Quartet be powered from the iPad/iPhone dock connector?

No, the iPad and iPhone cannot supply nearly enough power through their dock connector to allow Apogee interfaces to function properly. ONE can be powered by two AA batteries for remote operation, but the Duet and Quartet require their power supplies to be plugged in at all times.
